On Scene Cover Reveal

I posted this to Facebook quite some time ago but this is something that needs to be shared far and wide! Not following me on Facebook? I share lots of little day to day details at Kate Kading – Writer.

I am very proud of how the cover came out for my first book ON SCENE and FriesenPress did everything they could to accommodate literally my tiniest, most detailed request.

I was really apprehensive about the whole process because HOW can someone create something as important as a cover without having read the book? But with extensive communication through not only specifically designed questionnaires but also personal emails and conversations with my publishing specialist, everything really came together. Andrea is the bomb and I will share more about her levels of awesome in the near future.

We’ve had a few bumps in release date (thank you Covid and some other things beyond our control) but ON SCENE is coming very soon! AND I may have gotten an exciting email from the Book Trailer Production Team today.

Stay tuned…

  1. Can’t wait until the release.. our Dad Staff Sargent William Preston was very much part of this tragic event..I remember this story very well as an 11 year old young girl

  2. What a great book, it brought back memories of my childhood. I was just about 6 years old, living at Blaine Lake when this story unfolded. I can still remember the roadblocks at highways 40 and 12 in Blaine Lake. I remember having to exit the car and open the trunk so the RCMP could do their search. It was a scary time , especially knowing that Macdowall was as near as it was. Seems like only yesterday that this all came to pass, even though it’s been more than 50 years. Thanks for a great read.
